Sassy, streetwise Max works two jobs just to get by, one of which is waiting tables during the night shift at the retro-hip Williamsburg Diner. Sophisticated Caroline is an uptown trust fund princess who's having a run of bad luck that forces her to reluctantly give waitressing a shot. At first, Max sees Caroline as yet another in a long line of inept servers she must cover for, but she's surprised to find that Caroline has as much substance as she does style. When Caroline discovers Max's knack for baking amazing cupcakes, she sees a lucrative future for them, but they first need to raise the start-up money.

Show needs help
The writing on this show needs help. There is an occasional funny joke but most of them you know the punchline to before it's said. The acting is terrible. As one of the other reviewers said" Just two actresses reciting 500 lines as quickly as possible" I've never seen such monotone deliveries. The blond girl delivers lines like Dalia Royce on Suburgatory (a funny show). Only thing is that is supposed to be the joke on Suburgatory. She is a disconnected spoiled rich girl. The laugh track is horrible as with almost all the CBS sitcoms. It's not 1983 get rid of the laugh track. When my girlfriend has this on I HAVE to leave the room, can't stomach it. Cancel this show. Please.
