Jim and his girlfriend Kelly are visiting the infamous Willow Creek, the alleged home of the original Bigfoot legend - the tale of huge ape like creatures that roam the forests of North America. It was there that in 1967, the legendary beast was captured on film and has terrified and mystified generations since. Keen to explore more than 50 years of truth, folklore, misidentifications and hoaxes, Kelly goes along for the ride to keep Jim happy, whilst he is determined to prove the story is real by capturing the beast on camera. Deep in the dark and silent woods, isolated and hours from human contact, neither Kelly or Jim are prepared for what is hidden between the trees, and what happens when the cameras start rolling...

Review :

A tidy piece of found footage filmmaking

Okay, so if you enjoy the found footage genre this one is a step above. If you are not fond of these movies this one will not likely change your mind. Having said that Bobcat G has crafted a compact, well rounded and suspenseful horror flick with a decent build up to the last half hour or so of bowel loosening terror.

The two main characters are developed nicely even to the point of likability. There are a few minor characters thrown in to enhance the story which has its basis in the Bigfoot legend/myth and a guys quest to find evidence of Bigfoot for himself by visiting the wilderness of the famous 1967 "sighting" and filming, dragging his Bigfoot-denier girlfriend along.

Tight, nicely filmed for a found footage, conspicuously lacking in blood and gore, this one uses great audio to ramp up the scares. I would recommend for genre geeks and folks looking for some solid scares without the blood and guts.
